You Will Forever Be Enough

My project, You Will Forever Be More Than Enough, was inspired by my daughter entering kindergarten. Both of us are experiencing major life transitions.

I created a video of myself attempting to relearn how to fly a kite. I try. I fail. I try again. Fail again. I keep going. Over and over, day after day. The kite is my daughter’s height and the image of her belly button. The accompanying audio is of my daughter learning to read moves through 2-, 3-, and 4- 4-syllable words and, eventually, stories. Meaningful work that will further open her world.

I also displayed the actual kite. Much of You Will Forever Be More Than Enough is about holding on and letting go, having compassion for my little one and myself. I invited viewers to participate, asking, "What do you want to hold on to or let go of as a parent or caregiver?"
